Why we liked it

The BlueDriver OBD2 scan tool is one of the latest code readers to hit the market in 2021. Small, compact and boosting the sorts of features you normally only find on subscription based models, the BlueDriver is a really good choice for a mid-range product.

Excellent support: The BlueDriver code reader features a ton of saved videos you can watch offline that detail DIY fixes and tips to get the most out of your device.

Enhanced diagnostics: Many car code readers only pick up error signals from the "check engine" fault. The BlueDriver utilizes the full range of diagnostic inputs from the OBD2 socket. Gain detailed data and error code reporting on components such as airbags, ABS and climate control.

Log and export data: The BlueDriver lets you send any data it has collected to any email to be printed out for easy reference. Take this data to your mechanic to help them pinpoint the problem without costing you extra on labor.

Emissions testing: Emission tests are expensive. Use the BlueDriver to test your exhaust before you even leave for the test center.

Companion application

The companion application is excellent. The wide range of how-to videos make diagnosing and fixing various problems easier than ever before. The application can diagnose and clear many more codes than your average code reader. The live data reader can provide you with up to the second diagnostics while in transit. The app itself is easy to use and all the options are clearly marked and have a linked tutorial.

Design

The BlueDriver device is a little larger than the other devices we tested. It works flawlessly. The device can read and diagnose multiple types of error code a lot faster than much of the competition. We found during transit that the way the unit sticks out a little from the ODB2 port can get in the way of your knee from time to time.

Value For Money

The BlueDriver is one of the more expensive devices we tested this year. For the extra price you get a fantastic product that is easy to use and performs well. We believe the BlueDriver is reasonably priced for a one off payment.
