Compact design: The Fixd is one of the smallest code readers on the market. Once installed it sits flush with the dashboard and is almost invisible.

Spots problems early: Automatic warnings are highlighted on your smart device. The Fixd can even detect problems before they show up as a check engine error. This can save you hundreds of pounds in costly repair costs.

On-Call support: The Fixd premium service includes on-call mechanics that can talk you through any maintenance or diagnostic questions you may have.

See vehicle history: When buying a used car you can use the application to access full previous owner history, major accidents and fire and theft details.

Emissions testing: Emission tests are expensive. You can make sure you will pass the certification before going to the center with the build in emission tester.

Companion application

The Fixd companion application is one of the best we have ever seen. It is easy to use and explains complicated errors in a way the average consumer can understand. The only problem we found is that to access many of the best features you need to subscribe to the premium service. You can only pay for a whole year subscription and it adds up to quite a lot of money.

Design

The design of the Fixd is small and compact. The unit itself is well made and won't ever get knocked by your knees while driving. The premium service is incredible but without spending the extra money the Fixd loses most of the features that make it great.

Value For Money

At first glance the Fixd car code reader is very reasonably priced. Unfortunately many of its best features are locked behind the premium service subscription. If you have the spare money to pay for a year's service in one lump sum then we are sure you will love the extra features. If you would be happy with just basic reporting then you would be better looking at one of the other devices on our list.
